In 2006, Mabalane Mfundisi and Jonas Montsho, as partners in Babojanala Media, company later changed name to Media Dawn approached SAFPU (Sipho Ndzuzo, Thulaganyo Gaoshubelwe and Ronny Zondi) to propose an annual soccer game that SAFPU and Babojanala Media would host to raise funds and promote the involvement of SAFPU and their members in the fight against HIV and AIDS. The project would be managed by Babojanala Media. The game would be called Show Me Your Number. An agreement was signed between the two parties resulting in the start of Show Me Your Number as a project between SAFPU and Babojanala Media (later changed the name to Media Dawn), and upon the separation of partners in Media Dawn, Mosadi Mooka Empowerment Services (a company owned by Mabalane Mfundisi and Mthetho Tshemese) took over the management of Show Me Your Number Project.
In 2010 in June, by mutual agreement between SAFPU and Mosadi Mooka, Show Me Your Number arrangement as a project was annulled and Show Me Your Number HIV Prevention Project was registered as a Section 21 Company not-for-profit as well as an Non Profit Company. A Board of Directors with Simba Marumo as the founding Chairperson and Mabalane Mfundisi as the Executive Director and Glen Makhado as Operations Director (Glen passed away in March 2011 (may his soul rest in peace) was put in place in July 2010 to run the affairs of Show Me Your Number. In 2009, Show Me Your Number was mandated by the sector organizations to become the Secretariat of the South African National AIDS Council (SANAC) Sport & Entertainment Sector that was chaired by Dr. Victor Ramathesele with Mabalane Mfundisi as the Coordinator of the Secretariat. In 2012, Dr. Ramathesele's term expired and Mabalane took over as the Chairperson of the SANAC Sport, Arts & Culture Secretariat and Show Me Your Number continues in this role of being the Secretariat.
